Welcome to Pendine Online
Welcome to Pendine Online this website provides information on Pendine and the surrounding area.
Why Pendine?
Pendine is a village in Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying on Carmarthen Bay. Its the perfect place to get away from it all and take a relaxing break. There’s plenty going on in Pendine throughout the summer, for example the annual music festival that attracts bands from around the country.
Pendine is best known for Pendine Sands, where Malcolm Campbell and J.G. Parry-Thomas set the world land speed record five times between 1924 and 1927. The beach stretches for seven miles, and is well worth the visit.
Project Blade Runner
Project Running Blade is a project set up to take the World Landspeed Record for a lawnmower. The teeam is led by Steve Vokins from the National Motor Museum and the machine is being developed by Countax - a leading Uk manufacture. The date for the record breaking attempt is 22-23 May 2010. More dates for testing etc will follow as soon as we have them firmed-up. |
